The Shannons Sellicks Beach Historic Motorcycle Races captured the interest of media around the world.
From the very early days of the bid in 2014, the Southern Times Messenger reported on the Club's efforts. The Messenger and Seven News both covered the Council meeting in May 2016 helping to generate a lot of public interest.
In September, Ron Kandelaars produced a story for Seven News covering the history of the event and featuring two of our older competitors Murray Williams and Trevor Attwell.
That story coincided with the opening of ticket sales and sparked interest from motorcycling media from all around Australia. We also received requests for information from publications and specialist web sites in Britain, Europe and New Zealand.

Local radio station Coast FM was a great supporter of the races and gave the Club a regular spot in the months leading up to the races.

The ABC's Australia Wide program had a film crew following Trevor Attwell and Bill Angwin for months leading up to the races to document their journey.
The end result was fabulous. Tony Hill and the Crew at ABC did a stellar job. The story had a wide run on a variety of ABC platforms.

Channel 7's SA Weekender program also focused on one competitor, our own Brenton Matters, resulting in another great story.

We had photographers, journalists and camera operators covering every bit of the action on and off the track.

The results were national TV News coverage, superb spreads in the Sunday Mail, Weekend Australian, Advertiser and other News Ltd papers around the country, Just Bikes, Motorcycle Trader, Retro Vintage Review, and a variety of on-line publications.
